Pediatric dental is a required benefit on ACA health plans, but standalone family plans often have higher annual maximums and orthodontia included.

Dental Insurance FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much does dental insurance cost?
Standalone dental plans typically run $15–$50/month for an individual and $40–$120/month for a family. Annual maximums range from $1,000 to $5,000.
Do all dental plans have a waiting period?
No. Many plans waive waiting periods for preventive care entirely, and several carriers offer no-waiting-period plans on basic and major work too. We'll pull only those if you need coverage soon.
Does dental insurance cover implants?
Some plans do, some don't — and the ones that do often have a 12-month waiting period. We have several carriers with day-one implant coverage up to $3,000+ per tooth. Ask us specifically.
Can I keep my current dentist?
Probably yes. Most plans have huge networks (100K+ dentists). Tell us your dentist's name and we'll filter to plans that include them in-network.
Is dental separate from health insurance?
For adults, yes — most ACA health plans don't include dental. For kids under 19, pediatric dental is a required ACA benefit and may be bundled into your health plan or sold separately.
